A recent article about rider education placed TEAM OREGON squarely on the cover of American Motorcyclist – a national motorcyclist rights publication. The article explores the benefits and challenges states face when rider training becomes mandatory, and paints a terrific picture of Oregon’s motorcycle safety program. July Newsletter

Even though Around Saddle Mountain was dampened by some wet weather there was enough sunny weather to make it a fun ride. We had 31 bikes and 47 riders. We even had several riders who came in from the Portland area to ride. We thank all riders for supporting our ride and our charity the CCA Regional Food Bank. We want to thank everyone who donated raffle prizes and a big thanks to North Coast members who helped make this a successful, fun and safe ride.

As the riding season moves into summer and the weather starts to improve any member who has a destination in mind can put together a chapter ride. We encourage you to do so. Post your idea on our Facebook page or get your idea to our website, or do it the old fashion way….the telephone.

On a date in August yet to be determined we will have the Clatsop Retirement Village ride. Susanne Elise will have their Chili Cook Off the first Saturday in October. In October we will have our second road clean up detail.

Members give to Clatsop Community Action Food Bank

North Coast GivesNorth Coast ABATE members donated $1,000 to the Clatsop Community Action Food Bank fund Sunday. On hand were (from left) Carl Earl, Laird Adkins, ABATE Coordinator Don Kelly, CCA Food Bank Operations Manager Dustin Martin, Billy Varossa and Bruce Westerlund. This is one of three donations the motorcycle safety group plans to make this year. Martin said the donation was timely because of the mobile produce pantry initiative, which is kicking off now.
